AfterShotPro 01/10/2012
Well, this is the big news: Bibble became Corel AfterShot Pro! I hope this will be a new beginning for my favourite RAW developer, and I hope it will have the success it deserves. This should motivate Corel to invest even more in this new product, for more features, more regular updates, and listening for user feedback. I think the team badly needs a few more developers. AfterShot could push Corel to port PaintShop Pro to Linux, too - the operating system badly needs a performant bitmap editor. Gimp is almost a decade behind Photoshop considering its features. Now about my plugins The good news is that AfterShot Pro has the same great plugin architecture as Bibble - with even more flexibility! Right now I'm upgrading my plugins to the new SDK, to be able to take advantage of the new features. I hope I'll be able to release them during the next month. Note that Pixie and Blacky are now part of AfterShot Pro core. You can find both in the Standard tab as Raw noise removal and Blacks. Harry, Sally and Vigne and Zone should be the first plugins to be updated, followed by SallyPro. iNDA will be discontinued, and Lay will be dropped untill the SDK will support the changing of the alpha channel. ...and new plugins will come shortly! The Bibble plugins on this page will not work on AfterShot Pro. So please don't buy my plugins for AfterShot Pro, I won't support them. (I have enough work with porting the plugins right now) Please wait for the new plugins to be released! 1 Comment Plugins updated for Bibble 5.1 06/09/2010
The release of Bibble 5.1 is imminent, so I'm slowly updating my plugins for thus new version. Now the plugins will come in a single file, which makes it easier to download and install them. Just drag the downloaded file in the Bibble 5.1 window, and restart Bibble! You can install it from the File menu, too (Install plugin). I've already sent out the updated versions for the registered users by mail, so if you didn't receive it yet, don't hesitate to contact me! Don't have Bibble 5.1 yet? Go here and grab the RC1 version here: http://support.bibblelabs.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=17189 PS. One more thing, from BibbleLabs: "There's no uninstaller (yet) that you can run within Bibble. All you need to do to uninstall a plugin is remove it from the "plugins" folder within your Bibble User Folder. The Bibble User Folder can be found in the System Info dialog in the Help menu." SallyPro update soon 04/15/2010
Finally, I finished updating SallyPro... Now everything works, including the Preview and Reset buttons. Some bugs were also eliminated, and I updated a bit the interface. Note, that the buttons won't work in the trial version of SallyPro. Sorry it took so long (since the release of Bibble5), but it's really a lot of work. Only the number of the Preview buttons to implement is over 70. Anyway, if everything goes well, the final version will be released during the weekend. P.S. I'm preparing an up The Big Plugin Update 03/17/2010
Harry, Sally, Lay and Vigne are updated! I think it was already time to do this. Here's a short changelist:
Next thing to do: Update SallyPro: implement all the buttons. Vigne released 03/11/2010
Finally I finished Vigne, it wasn't easy. Even if the interface looks simple, I had a lot of work especially with the "invisible" functions (for example adjusting the vignette to the cropped region and the orientation of the image). Since every slider controls a different function of the plugin, I had to implement more functions than for example in Sally - where 7 controls are the different parameters of the same function. Anyway, finally it's ready and I'm publishing it. The Pro version and the Mac version will be ready at the beginning of next week, so don't forget to come back in a few days! BTW, the Free version has really just a few limitations compared to the Pro version. But if you like it, or use it for commercial purposes, please buy the Pro version. By buying it (anyway, it's up to you, how much do you pay) you'll help me to continue to develop even more useful plugins for Bibble. Vigne under testing 03/08/2010
Vigne is an advanced vignetting plugin for Bibble5. You can change every parameter of the vignetting: size, transition sharpness, falloff type, center, a.s.o. Before the final release, here is a version to test (Click "Read More" to download the file). Please post your feedback in the Bibble forum, or post a comment here, if you are not a member of the forum. Update: Final version available, get it from the Download page. Bibble plugin bug... 02/03/2010
I just realized there is a serious bug in Bibble 5 which affects the plugins. Apparently the number of controls Bibble can handle is limited [update: it's 357, thanks, SadMan], so if you have a lot of plugins installed, it can cause a crash at startup. This can appear especially after installing SallyPro or Sally, because these plugins use the most controls. The only solution I see right now is to remove the plugins you don't use (for example use Sally instead SallyPro if you can), and hope this problem will be patched soon. More info about this bug on the Bibble 5 support forum. P.S. Adding Reset/Preview buttons to SallyPro would increase the number of Bibble crashes, so I put this feature i The most important: my webpage has a new address: www.kbarni.net Be sure to upgrade your bookmarks. If you didn't bookmark this page yet, this is an excellent opportunity to do it :) The second great news: Bibble 5.0.1 was released on thursday, with an impressive changelog! As the plugin API was changed, all the plugins have to be updated. Go quickly to the download page to get the latest versions! I have a great news for Mac owners, too: finally my plugins are compiled for this platform, too. Unfortunately they are reported to work only on Intel based Macs. I'm working on making them work on PowerPC architectures, too. The last news is about the release of a new plugin: Pixie. I'll write about it in the next post. New plugin: Zone 01/17/2010
All right, here is my new plugin, Zone. It decomposes the image in different exposure zones using Ansel Adams' Zone system, each consisting in 1 stop exposure value. This plugin can be really handy in correctly setting the exposure of an image in post-processing. Here is a quick example how to set the skin tone in an underexposed portrait to zone 6-7. I'm happy to announce the release of Bibble 5 on my first post of 2010! Congratulations, guys, you did a great job! Bibble 5 is great, but I still appreciate the most the openness towards the community of the Bibblelabs team - I can really see it on the final product. Anyway, hurry and visit the Bibble website, download the trial and buy it! You won't regret it! | ArchivesJanuary 2012 CategoriesAll |
