Vigne update coming 12/09/2010
Wow... I've been avay for a long time. I don't really have a good excuse, but now, as a full-time employee I had less time to play with Bibble. The other reason is, that my Olympus camera broke down, and I just got my new Nikon D7000. I had the chance to test it with the latest Bibble 5.2 beta, and I like its results more than those of Lightroom 3.3. Or even the in-camera conversions. (this is when I start to appreciate the excellent color rendering of the Olympus JPEG engine) Anyway, for a few months I was using a Panasonic compact cam, so I didn't open Bibble for a while (Picasa was perfect to handle those JPG files). Anyway, back to Vigne: I made two giant bugs in the current release, and I'm ironing it out right now. So expect a bugfix update this week, followed by a bigger update, with a few new features. I know these bugs were signaled since the original release, so I want to apologize because the update took so long. Add Comment One more update... 06/10/2010
Sorry, the first update didn't go as smoothly as I expected. Vigne and the registered versions of Harry and Sally were incorrectly packaged. It seems that the plugin packager provided by Bibblelabs has still some bugs. The problem can be solved manually by editing the blxml file in the plugin folder (replace the H:/..... with lib/...) or you can redownload the plugins; the current versions should work (you may have to manually delete the old plugins) Sorry again! I just realized there is a serious bug in Bibble 5 which affects the plugins. Apparently the number of controls Bibble can handle is limited [update: it's 357, thanks, SadMan], so if you have a lot of plugins installed, it can cause a crash at startup. This can appear especially after installing SallyPro or Sally, because these plugins use the most controls. The only solution I see right now is to remove the plugins you don't use (for example use Sally instead SallyPro if you can), and hope this problem will be patched soon. More info about this bug on the Bibble 5 support forum. P.S. Adding Reset/Preview buttons to SallyPro would increase the number of Bibble crashes, so I put this feature i | ArchivesJanuary 2012 CategoriesAll |
