Just a quick update: Four plugins are almost ready for ASP, they are being tested in the Bibble support forums. If you are curious (and ready to encounter some bugs), go there and test them.
These plugins are: Equalizer, Vigne, Zone and Grid.

Vigne released 03/11/2010

Finally I finished Vigne, it wasn't easy.
Even if the interface looks simple, I had a lot of work especially with the "invisible" functions (for example adjusting the vignette to the cropped region and the orientation of the image).
Since every slider controls a different function of the plugin, I had to implement more functions than for example in Sally - where 7 controls are the different parameters of the same function.
Anyway, finally it's ready and I'm publishing it. The Pro version and the Mac version will be ready at the beginning of next week, so don't forget to come back in a few days!

BTW, the Free version has really just a few limitations compared to the Pro version. But if you like it, or use it for commercial purposes, please buy the Pro version. By buying it (anyway, it's up to you, how much do you pay) you'll help me to continue to develop even more useful plugins for Bibble.

Vigne is an advanced vignetting plugin for Bibble5.
You can change every parameter of the vignetting: size, transition sharpness, falloff type, center, a.s.o.

Before the final release, here is a version to test (Click "Read More" to download the file).
Please post your feedback in the Bibble forum, or post a comment here, if you are not a member of the forum.

Update: Final version available, get it from the Download page.

Lots of news today: New address, plugin upgrades and Mac versions 01/30/2010
1 Comment

The most important: my webpage has a new address: www.kbarni.net
Be sure to upgrade your bookmarks. If you didn't bookmark this page yet, this is an excellent opportunity to do it :)

The second great news: Bibble 5.0.1 was released on thursday, with an impressive changelog! As the plugin API was changed, all the plugins have to be updated. Go quickly to the download page to get the latest versions!

I have a great news for Mac owners, too: finally my plugins are compiled for this platform, too. Unfortunately they are reported to work only on Intel based Macs. I'm working on making them work on PowerPC architectures, too.

The last news is about the release of a new plugin: Pixie. I'll write about it in the next post.

Back to work 01/09/2010

As the new year arrived, I'm beginning my new job, and I'm going back to plugin development, too.
I began with updating Lay for Bibble 5.0 final...as you probably observed, it didn't work because of a change in Bibble's processing pipe.
Now on the top of my to do list is compiling the plugins for Mac. After, I'll try to finish SallyPro, to have all the Preview buttons implemented.
Then I'll begin to write new plugins, I already have some ideas... some simple (but useful) plugins for the beginning. :)

Lay update and tutorial... 07/06/2009

It seems I've been a bit lazy lately, but the fact is I don't have much time for the Bibble plugins. I have a lot of work.
But here is a small update for Lay, it's in fact the final version, with tutorial.

iNDA B/W film simulation 06/10/2009

My next plugin is a black and white film simulator for Bibble 5 similar to Sean M. Puckett's Andy.
I hope it will satisfy (at least partly) the needs of those, who asked since a long time for Andy. It's however simpler, because it simulates the "classical" photography process untill the film is developed - so without the printing process.

You can find it's presentation on my homepage, and you can get it in the Download section.
If you want to play with the source code, just contact me!

Bibble 5 plugins again... 06/02/2009

Ok, I managed to decrypt the Bibble5 SDK, so here I am with brand new versions of Harry and Sally.
[Edit: Small bugfix update this evening]
SallyPro is on it's way (it takes a long time to rewrite all the controls), and a new plugin - Lay - is almost ready. I'll keep its functionality as a surprise :)
[Another update: it's ready, but I still have a small bug to correct before posting it]

So I'm ready, now it's the turn of the guys from BibbleLabs to bring us a brand new shiny final version of Bibble 5.

Bibble 5 plugins 05/27/2009

I know I promised the Bibble 5 plugins two weeks ago, and they still aren't posted...
I must admit I didn't really have time to code them (I have a lot of work), but I'll make them slowly. It took me some time to get used to the new plugin architecture (had a few nasty bugs, especially with the multi-layer images). However Harry is ready (I'm already testing it), and I'll start to port Sally soon.
Unfortunately the development of Bibble 5 is even slower...and they may change the plugin system anytime. That isn't a motivating factor at all.

By the way, the evaluation version of SallyPro will expire in a few days. You should uninstall it, otherwise it will bug you everytime you start Bibble (or buy the full version).
I promise next time I'll make a less obtrusive notification.

Good news, bad news... 05/01/2009

First the good news: SallyPro for Bibble4 is released!
It wasn't easy to write it, the interface has more than 650 elements crowded in the tabs. Implement the action for every button, linking every slider was a real PITA. But it was worth the work, the results are really great.
I also made a double interface for SallyPro, you can use which suits you the best, or even both interfaces in parallel! You can find them in the Tools menu->Plugins->SallyPro A or SallyPro B.
You can try the preview version or buy it.

In the meantime I almost finished porting Harry and Sally to Bibble 5.
I hope I can post them for testing this weekend. As there still may be some (minor) changes in the Bibble5 plugin structure, it's possible I'll have to recompile them for the next beta (or the final version, I hope), but I think I won't wait for the final version with the release, so you can play with them (and maybe use them - sincerely I like a lot the features of Bibble5).

Now the bad news: I had a Mac today from a friend, si I had the chance to compile my plugins for MacOS. Sally works without problem, Harry gives aberrant results and SallyPro crashes. It's really annoying, as the "engine" of the plugins is the same, and they compile without problem under Linux and Windows.
I've spent 3 hours debugging, trying to correct an operation for Harry, but no luck. About SallyPro I don't have a clue what could go wrong.
So I'll put Sally on the download section, but I won't promise anything for SallyPro and Harry.
