SallyPro update soon 04/15/2010
0 Comments

Finally, I finished updating SallyPro... Now everything works, including the Preview and Reset buttons. Some bugs were also eliminated, and I updated a bit the interface.

Note, that the buttons won't work in the trial version of SallyPro.

Sorry it took so long (since the release of Bibble5), but it's really a lot of work. Only the number of the Preview buttons to implement is over 70.

Anyway, if everything goes well, the final version will be released during the weekend.

P.S. I'm preparing an up

Harry, Sally, Lay and Vigne are updated! I think it was already time to do this.
Here's a short changelist:
  • Vigne: Added "Adjust to crop" option
  • Vigne: Mac version released
  • VignePro: Released for all the platforms
  • Harry and Sally: Added Reset button
  • Lay: Several bugs fixed
  • Lay: Added Reset button to the registered version
If you have bought these plugins, but didn't receive the update, please contact me!

Next thing to do: Update SallyPro: implement all the buttons.

Vigne released 03/11/2010

Finally I finished Vigne, it wasn't easy.
Even if the interface looks simple, I had a lot of work especially with the "invisible" functions (for example adjusting the vignette to the cropped region and the orientation of the image).
Since every slider controls a different function of the plugin, I had to implement more functions than for example in Sally - where 7 controls are the different parameters of the same function.
Anyway, finally it's ready and I'm publishing it. The Pro version and the Mac version will be ready at the beginning of next week, so don't forget to come back in a few days!

BTW, the Free version has really just a few limitations compared to the Pro version. But if you like it, or use it for commercial purposes, please buy the Pro version. By buying it (anyway, it's up to you, how much do you pay) you'll help me to continue to develop even more useful plugins for Bibble.

Vigne under testing 03/08/2010

Vigne is an advanced vignetting plugin for Bibble5.
You can change every parameter of the vignetting: size, transition sharpness, falloff type, center, a.s.o.

Before the final release, here is a version to test (Click "Read More" to download the file).
Please post your feedback in the Bibble forum, or post a comment here, if you are not a member of the forum.

Update: Final version available, get it from the Download page.

Plugin bug corrected 03/05/2010

Good news: the bug affecting the Bibble plugins has been corrected in version 5.0.2.

Otherwise you might have been observed that I'm less active in the last time (even on the forums). I didn't forget you, and even if I have less time for Bibble, I'm continuing the development of new plugins, and I'm following the Bibble forums, too.

So the other good news is, that I have a new plugin already in testing phase, it's already working, but it still has some features missing and some optimisation job to do.

Bibble plugin bug... 02/03/2010

I just realized there is a serious bug in Bibble 5 which affects the plugins. Apparently the number of controls Bibble can handle is limited [update: it's 357, thanks, SadMan], so if you have a lot of plugins installed, it can cause a crash at startup.
This can appear especially after installing SallyPro or Sally, because these plugins use the most controls.
The only solution I see right now is to remove the plugins you don't use (for example use Sally instead SallyPro if you can), and hope this problem will be patched soon.

More info about this bug on the Bibble 5 support forum.

P.S. Adding Reset/Preview buttons to SallyPro would increase the number of Bibble crashes, so I put this feature i

New plugin: Pixie 01/30/2010

Pixie is a hot/dark pixel remover for Bibble5.
Bibble4 had this feature, but unfortunately it isn't implemented yet in Bibble5. So I decided to make it, and it seems it does a better job than the Bibble version (it caused some ugly edge artifacts).
So, if you are having problems with hot pixels or pixeldust, go and check it out!
Pixie is currently available for Windows and Linux...Mac version is coming soon.
The next version will be able to remove hot pixels using a predefined table, to reduce even more the detail loss.

Pixie is provided for free, but please consider donating to support the further development of my plugins. Thank you!

Otherwise in the next weeks I'll concentrate on optimizing and completing my current plugins, so I don't promise any new plugins in the near future.
I hope the next version of Bibble will allow a bigger (spatial) freedom on working on the image, and I already have a few ideas!

Lots of news today: New address, plugin upgrades and Mac versions 01/30/2010

The most important: my webpage has a new address: www.kbarni.net
Be sure to upgrade your bookmarks. If you didn't bookmark this page yet, this is an excellent opportunity to do it :)

The second great news: Bibble 5.0.1 was released on thursday, with an impressive changelog! As the plugin API was changed, all the plugins have to be updated. Go quickly to the download page to get the latest versions!

I have a great news for Mac owners, too: finally my plugins are compiled for this platform, too. Unfortunately they are reported to work only on Intel based Macs. I'm working on making them work on PowerPC architectures, too.

The last news is about the release of a new plugin: Pixie. I'll write about it in the next post.

New plugin: Zone 01/17/2010

All right, here is my new plugin, Zone.
It decomposes the image in different exposure zones using Ansel Adams' Zone system, each consisting in 1 stop exposure value.
This plugin can be really handy in correctly setting the exposure of an image in post-processing.
Here is a quick example how to set the skin tone in an underexposed portrait to zone 6-7. Open the images to see more.
